What Do Financially Happy Individuals Do?

We have already talked about financial freedom and financial independence in these articles. However, one important aspect of dealing with money is being financially happy after working extra hard, cutting a lot of expenses, and sacrificing material wants (and sometimes needs) just to save money. Do we work hard to save? Or do we work hard to be financially happy and content?

A financially happy individual is someone who does not stress about debts anymore and he/she has sufficient money and funds for his/her expenses. Generally, a person is stressed about money because his savings and salary are not enough to make him debt-free and to finance his basic necessities.

Financially happy people do these things that differentiate them from the rest:

Account Balance Is Something They Don’t Worry About

Financially happy people do not care about figures of their bank balance. Instead, they focus on things that make it better - by saving money or earning additional income if needed. They don’t stress over their finances, as long as their expenses are fully covered. They would rather do something about it, than dwell on the thought their bank account is diminishing and putting the blame on themselves or other people.

They Live Within Their Means

Financially happy people generally are not showy. They live in a lifestyle that their salary can afford. For them, money is not the only status symbol in the world. They would rather feel comfortable in their finances and abilities, rather than buying stuff and living a lifestyle just to impress other people.

They Don’t Have Debts And Credit Balances

Financially happy people are debt-free individuals. When they started working and earning money, they made it a goal to save up to pay their debt and other financial obligations. These people know that releasing themselves from these obligations will make them enjoy their future income even better. Financially happy individuals who have paid off their credit balances are those who have a good credit standing in their banks, too.

They Have Insurance

These people are good at planning ahead. They know that risks are present everywhere - physically and financially. They have already planned ahead so they would not anymore worry about money should these unfortunate circumstances happen.

They Are Happy With Non-Material Stuff

Financially happy people are happy even without the expensive stuff. They don’t feel the need to keep up with everyone nor impress others with the expensive things they buy. These people value relationships and happiness that money cannot buy. They are content with their lifestyle and life in general. They rarely do splurge shopping as well.

Final Thoughts

Being financially happy does not necessarily mean having a fat bank account and living a millionaire lifestyle. Yes, they have financial goals but at the same time, they don’t stress over their current situation. They strive hard to achieve these goals but they do it for their own happiness and satisfaction, instead of impressing other people or keeping up with the standards of others.
