Don’t Pay For These 4 Things With Your Credit Card!

Don’t Pay For These 5 Things With Your Credit Card!

Although credit cards can be helpful, they are not always your best form of payment- especially if you have trouble managing debt. Oftentimes, it is wiser to leave the card at home. It’s not because of the unlimited swipes and the mindset that you have unlimited money in your hands at that moment that you have your credit card, but there are certain reasons, why these stuff should not really be paid with credit card:

Household Utilities and Bills

Household bills and utilities expenses replenish monthly. If you don't pay your entire balance each month, the interest charges will make those monthly bills even more expensive. Better pay them in cash.

Retail Therapy

Using your credit card to pay for your small impulsive purchases (or little indulgences that make you happy) can lead into shopping addiction. Your mind might get used to the idea that you have unlimited money stored in that plastic card. To balance your retail therapy and your ability to pay without getting into debt, it’s better to pay with cash.

Medical And/Or Hospital Bills

Before using a medical credit card from your health care provider to pay hospital bills, read the entire contract including the fine print specifying your obligations. This is especially important in regards to understand how and when interest will accrue.

Drinks And Clubbing

It’s easy to get carried away while you’re having a night with your friends until your tab has already ballooned and you’ll end up with a mountain of debt just for one night.

Wedding And Other Extravagant Celebrations

Wedding planning is a difficult and detailed process, especially when it comes to budgeting. One of your first challenges as an engaged couple is learning how much things cost and seeing if you can actually afford them. A great way to avoid debt from your wedding day is by opening up a savings account that you both contribute to every pay day.

Final Thoughts

If you can't pay your credit card bill in full each month, it's best not to use your credit card for that purchase. Credit cards are important tools for financial wellbeing, but if used irresponsibly, it will be more of a burden to you.
