Hey everyone! Shaw Josiah here. Thanks for tuning in. Today, I’m gonna share with you and income update for the month of August. So, the month of August has been a really good month for me. In fact it’s one of the better performing months over the year. I’ve managed to break a few barriers, and crossed a few milestones within this month.
One which is, I’m so happy to say, I managed to cross $10K commissions in a week. I managed to crossed that this month and actually this month, I also understand my list better and focus and laser target all the things what my subscribers love. Instead of broadening to multiple products, from multiple niches. I target a subniche of a niche to figure out what my subscribers love. Because of that, I’ve seen dramatic increase in my sales.
What I’m really happy to say is that I did not spent money anymore on ads. My business has been running without additional ads ever since I’ve crossed the 15,000 subscribers mark. I stopped pumping money into ads or into any for of promotion. This results right here are actually from the cost of my autoresponder, domain and my hosting. That’s it.
I did not spent on any ads. That’s because there’s a method that I use that I teach my students. How to get super targeted, infinite traffic. That only happens when you hit a certain amount of subscribers. That’s one of the method that I teach my students. Now, I just want to share with you guys how much growth there is in my business ever since last year.
Let’s take a look at my last year’s results. I took a screenshot of my results last year and here’s my last year’s result. This is August 2017, and let me bring up my calculator and take a look the top four weeks of last year’s result. That is $3607 plus, $3061 plus, $1991 plus, $2228. So, last year in August, I managed to make $10887. That’s taking the top four weeks in calculation.
In just a short one year, I managed to scale up my business with no additional cost. With no additional advertising cost. I understand that if you do Facebook Ads, PPC ads, native ads, whatever ads it is, in order to scale your business up. You will need to pump in more money in ads. But for my business and the strategy that I use, and the strategy that my students use. We scaled without spending anymore money. And within one year I managed to achieve a result that is significantly better that the previous year.
Let’s take the first four weeks of my numbers this year. $7626 plus, $6849 plus, $7960 plus, $9215. That is $31650 commissions made in the month of August 2018. See the contrast, it’s three times the number I made in Clickbank alone. This purely from my Clickbank affiliate account.
I just want to show you guys that affiliate marketing, as an affiliate is powerful enough for you to generate an income of over $30000. This itself, I believe is just the tip of the iceberg. And I also believe that it can be fully scaled once you fully understand your business. This is not to impress you, but to impress upon you what an affiliate can make by just sending a couple of emails every single day.
What I ant to share with you is one single observation that I have. And this observation indeed, break all the different stereotypes or the mindset or barriers that someone would have in this business. Would you agree with me that the bigger your list size is, in this industry, the more money you’re gonna make? Yes?
Yes! It’s absolutely right. That is true. But what I’ve figured out is that in the month of August, last year, I have more subscribers than what I have right now. That is weird. Even though I have more subscribers, my income is three times lower than what I have right now. Last year in the month of August, I had about 60000 subscribers. Now at this point in time, I’m just gonna open my Sendlane account. The number of subscriber I have is only 57000, it’s lower than what I had last year, but the amount of money that I’m making is three times more.
What is this tell you? This tell you that the belief of having more subscribers equal to more income, is not entirely true. Because what I’ve realized is this, out of the 60000 subscribers I had last year. Almost ⅓ of them are dead. Basically, they are not opening, they are not clicking, they are ignoring my emails, they are not responding. They are dead, they are just good as numbers.
So next time, if there’s someone out there saying. Hey I've got a list of hundred thousand subscribers. I bring it up to 200000 subscribers. Or whatever it is, ask them, what is your income like? Because I’ve known people who has a list of 100000 subscribers but making maybe four or five times less that I am making.
I also known people who has a list of half of mine, that is super target and making almost what I am making. At the end of it, it’s all about knowing your subscribers. It’s not about the numbers, it’s not about the number of subscribers on your list. If the number is high, it may give you a false sensation, for you to feel good.
It’s all about sales. It’s all about how you can super target your list to be able achieve even more sales with least amount of subscribers. You basically want subscribers that are very targeted, responsive and you don’t want just to put a number in your account.
What I love about Sendlane. It is created by one of my good friends, Jimmy as well as Anik. The thing I love about it is that it has a function for list hygiene. It clears up my list of the people who haven’t been opening for the past three months and it just cleans them up. That keeps my list healthy, keeping my open rates also healthy.
That’s one myth I want to break in your mind. If you think the more subscribers that you have is an achievement on its own. I want you to think again. Because it doesn’t mean that if you have a six figure subscriber base. You are gonna generate over $10000. Sometimes its even less and may be it’s just $3000.
If you have a subscriber base of just half of that 50000. Don’t be ashamed of it, because a 50000 subscriber list can can very well bring you three times, five times or ten times of what a hundred thousand subscriber list can bring you.
With that amount of subscribers, I am generating about $30000 on Clickbank. That is excluding the sales from my solo ads traffic that I am selling. It also excludes the private affiliate networks I am promoting, like the recent launch by Anik. Which is the Escape, a book that he’s selling. That itself generated about two to three thousand dollars on top of my Clickbank account.
The point I am trying to make here is this. Focus on what your subscribers love. What kind of products best convert for your subscribers and eliminate the rest. Just narrow down your target. When you narrow down your target, you will be able to understand your list better and you can better scale your list into what they love.
